Our Play Environments


At Innovative Early Learning we offer stimulating and enriching environments where children can feel at home with their educators and friends as they learn and play. During the year Sydney offers some unpredictable weather during such times children often have to stay within the classroom environment, at Innovative Early Learning we are lucky to offer an indoor outdoor area where children can remain active and utilise and practise all of the same skills they do outside regardless of the weather, our indoor outdoor space boasts wooden decking, beautiful sandstone edging around our sandpits, natural plants that the children love to take care of, varied climbing equipment, bikes and scooters and sports equipment, we aim to make this area as natural as possible.

We also have 2 smaller outdoor spaces where our children are given opportunities to engage in water play, use the mud kitchen, check our insect hotels, have story times, play ball games, draw and paint and participate in garden to kitchen experiences where they grow their own vegetables and herbs which they then prepare for afternoon tea meals or proudly take what they have grown home to their families, this is also a great way to introduce sustainability and environmental learning to our children which we place a big emphasis on.

We also offer daily and weekly excursions for our 2-5 year olds to our local park, our location makes our local park very accessible and this is where the children are able to view wildlife and explore their surroundings, have nature hunts and play group games. Nature play significantly improves all aspects of child development – physical, cognitive, social and emotional. Playing outdoors grows resilience, self-confidence, initiative, creativity and more.

Bumble Bee Room 0-2 years


In our Nursery room at Innovative Early Learning, we aim to provide all of our babies with a loving and comfortable environment which encourages fun, learning and development. We understand the importance of routine for yourself and your baby and we pride ourselves in being able to offer flexible practise’s throughout the day where we can mimic the routine that you have started at home. Within our nursery room we embrace different aspects of play development including heuristic, onlooker, parallel, associative and cooperative play, all of our children have an opportunity to take part in many exciting and varied experiences throughout the day, our educators are qualified and very experienced with this age group and strive to ensure that all of the experiences provided are age appropriate and encourage safe and fun exploration. We have put careful thought and consideration into the resources we choose for our children, at Innovative Early Learning we follow the Pikler approach with our 0-3 year old’s and utilise wooden Pikler resources. Pikler is based on a respectful relationship between educator and child which promotes naturally paced motor development, free movement and uninterrupted play opportunities.

Grasshopper Room 2-3 years


In our 2-3 year old classroom our children are engaged in multiple experiences throughout the day which enhance all aspects of their learning and development.  Innovative Early Learning understands the importance of learning through play and our educators provide many meaningful opportunities which prompt development and encourage the children to become curious and involved learners.  We support this age group as they rapidly expand on so many skills such as vocabulary, social interactions, cognitive concepts, fine and gross motor skills and the huge milestone of toilet training.  Utilising our interest-based programming helps excite their curiosity while providing a supportive environment to explore.  We have put careful thought and consideration into the resources we choose for our children, at Innovative Early Learning we follow the Pikler approach with our 0-3 year old’s and utilise wooden Pikler resources.  Pikler is based on a respectful relationship between educator and child which promotes naturally paced motor development, free movement and uninterrupted play opportunities

Dragonfly Junior Preschool Classroom 3-4 years


In our Junior Preschool room, we are excited to offer a very child led approach to learning which is supported by an experienced Bachelor trained educator. Building upon the child’s interests, we encourage the children to share their input into what they would like to learn about which gives us an opportunity to focus on many different learning topics throughout the year.  We endeavour to create a balance of both child led and teacher guided by providing different mediums, materials and guidance which supports the children’s learning and extends on necessary knowledge.  Our educators scaffold learning in a meaningful and purposeful way and work collaboratively with our junior pre-schoolers to ensure that they are building on essential skills to become successful lifelong learners and begin to touch upon their preparation for school. 

Butterflies Senior Preschool Room 4-5 years


Our Preschool room is run by an experienced and qualified Early Childhood teacher.  In our pre-school room we offer a high quality comprehensive school readiness programme which increases the children’s knowledge of numeracy, literacy and STEM concepts.  A key aspect of our senior preschool room is expanding on existing social and emotional skills as research shows the biggest determinants of academic success at school relate directly to social and emotional development in children, we effectively promote further continuation of these skills by providing our senior pre-schoolers with opportunities to take on more independence as they prepare for their next year at school.  We offer a child led approach as we do in our junior preschool where educators are actively engaged in children’s learning and share decision making with them while scaffolding the children’s learning in a meaningful and purposeful way which supports children as individuals.
